Sofia Shahid holds a Doctorate in Health Science and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. With a deep commitment to supporting clients and their families, she is dedicated to guiding them on their journey to realizing their fullest potential. Using evidence-based approaches, Sofia integrates techniques such as motivation enhancement, positive self-talk, communication strategies, and a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, play therapy, art therapy and role-playing and more. This allows her to create a nurturing environment that promotes self-exploration and personal growth.
Sofia’s mission extends beyond the therapy room as she works to empower individuals in overcoming life’s challenges and building a strong foundation for mental well-being. She specializes in addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger management, emotional regulation, trauma and PTSD, identity and sexuality issues, suicidal ideation, substance use disorders, and other related mental health challenges. By offering personalized support, she helps each individual navigate their unique struggles.
Outside of her professional work, Sofia enjoys exploring new destinations, trying diverse cuisines, and spending quality time with her beloved canine companions.
