Brenton Sanford is currently a Primary Therapist I at A Mission for Michael (AMFM). Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mr. Sanford has resided on the East Coast for over 11 years. He is a proud first-generation college graduate, earning both a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Sociology from Howard University. He later obtained his M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from New York University.
Mr. Sanford brings a wealth of experience in the mental health field, including crisis counseling, substance abuse treatment, residential care, and both private and community-based mental health services. Prior to joining AMFM, he served as a Program Manager for a health literacy initiative supported by D.C. Health, where he worked at a local non-profit organization.
Deeply passionate about mental health, Mr. Sanford values the opportunity to connect with clients from all walks of life. He shares, “When times are heavy and we are faced with uncertainty, being able to process and navigate the tricky situations is worth all the wild.”
In his free time, Mr. Sanford enjoys traveling, cooking, and listening to his favorite artist, Beyoncé. “My favorite album from Beyoncé is Renaissance. While all her albums are phenomenal, Renaissance is truly astonishing!
