James C. Battles, is registered through the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), currently serves as the primary therapist for RTC LOC Grayston House, Orange County region at A Mission for Michael Healthcare. James has worked extensively within various substance use / addiciton in-treatment facilities since 2016. James provides his clinical services and expertise with a compassionate client-centered approach with a strong commitment to mental health advocacy, and adherence to evidence based and best practices for diverse clinical and multi-ethnic backgrounds. James has extensive academic and specialty trainings / certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cogntive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and currently undergoing Beck’s Institute use of Recovery Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) through AMFM. James completed his first master’s degree from California Lutheran Universty and achieved a M.S., Clinical Psychology degree. James later attended the University of Massachusetts and achieved his M.A., Marriage and Family Therapy degree. Prior to James pursuing his extensive academic career and clinical training James proudly served as Sergeant (Sgt./E-5) within the United States Marine Corp from 2002-2010.
