Michael Woode, LMFT, LPCC is a Lead Therapist for AMFM’s Orange County region. With over 6 years of experience in the field of mental health, and a decade of military service prior to, Michael strives to incorporate his multi-faceted experience to serve AMFM’s diverse clientele. Prior to his current role, Michael cut his teeth in the profession as a counseling intern in the California Public School System. Then, as an Associate, he moved on to a Regional Field Supervisor position for a non-profit providing adjunct emotional/social/behavioral supports to public and private schools in Orange and Los Angeles counties, honing his crisis assessment and conflict management skills. When hired on to AMFM’s Orange County team, Michael served as one of the Residential Therapists. It was here that he developed his clinical knowledge and skills in working with dual diagnosis clients at the residential and partial hospitalization level of care. Michael’s clinical approach is influenced and informed by his training(s) in crisis prevention and response, dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and he maintains the requirements of a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
