Paola K. Telyagova is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT), certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT), experienced registered yoga teacher, and Certified in teaching Mindfulness Meditation by the University of California at Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center and the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Her fascination for psychology and the body began at the University of Berkeley California, where she majored in psychology and minored in theater dance performance studies and was involved in various research labs studying the Comorbidity between Sleep and Mental Health, looking at genetic and environmental factors to measure how these two interact and effect stress & coping skills, studying the effects of sleep deprivation in adolescents, finding causes for sleep deprivation and the impact this has on cognitive/emotional processes and academic performance, understanding that sleep and mental health are closely linked, with poor sleep increasing the risk of mental health issues and mental health issues contributing to sleep problems. Paola has been involved most of her life in various movement disciplines of competitive dance, martial arts, and yoga where she built communities through classes, events, and retreats. After a major injury to her spine having to take a long break in movemnet became inter Paola K. Telyagova provides an integrative approach of psychotherapy with body informed modalities to support and help her clients to resource safety and support, increase awareness and attunement of the physical sensations that come from their mental health conditions and use this awareness to release tension, stress, and trauma and find healing through the art of Radical Acceptance and Compassion. Her journey in healing from colon and breast cancer led her to become a passionate advocate of wellness & health and supports clients to transcend limiting beliefs about their bodies and self and provides a safe space for the intimate relationship between mind, body, & spirit to activate inner healing & vitality. At AMFM, Paola K. Telyagova facilitates group and individual therapy that consist of; Mindfulness Meditation, Sound Bath, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Mindful Gardening, and Polyvagal Theory Applied in Yoga providing foundational yoga, breath-work, and meditative practices to balance, energize, and calm the body.
