Paola K. Telyagova is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT), certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT), experienced registered yoga teacher, and Certified in teaching Mindfulness Meditation by the University of California at Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center and the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Her fascination for psychology and the body began at the University of Berkeley California, where she majored in psychology and minored in theater dance performance studies and was involved in various research labs studying the Comorbidity between Sleep and Mental Health, looking at genetic and environmental factors to measure how these two interact and effect stress & coping skills, studying the effects of sleep deprivation in adolescents, finding causes for sleep deprivation and the impact this has on cognitive/emotional processes and academic performance, understanding that sleep and mental health are closely linked, with poor sleep increasing the risk of mental health issues and mental health issues contributing to sleep problems.
