“Vanessa Lopez is a compassionate and dedicated Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), and fully EMDR trained therapist with a strong foundation in focusing on meaningful connections, and trauma-informed care. Her journey began at the University of California, Berkeley where she discovered a strong desire to advocate and support underserved and underrepresented populations, and destigmatize mental health within the Hispanic community and beyond. Through her work as a writer for the Latin American Leadership Society (LLS), personal experiences, commitment to enhancing literacy in schools for young students, and work as a math teacher, she learned the importance of mental health support in all communities, so individuals and the systems around them can thrive. After completing her bachelors in Social Welfare and Sociology, she went on to pursue her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Vanessa started her career in the mental health field in 2020 and is able to provide therapeutic services in English and Spanish to individuals, families and couples. She has significant experience in behavioral interventions, advocacy, community services, and group facilitation. Vanessa also has experience and training with Dialectical Behaviorial Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) Her special interests include helping young adults understand and overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, suicide ideation, and interpersonal conflict, so that they connect more fully with their authentic selves, lead a values-based life, and build a more meaningful connection with themselves and others. “
