Sometimes we need more treatment than weekly therapy or an outpatient program can provide. In instances where symptoms are severely impacting life, the immersive, supportive environment of a residential program can give you more stabilization for healing.
At AMFM Healthcare, our residential mental health treatment for adults allows you to step away from daily life to really engage in treatment and focus on healing. Residential treatment centers for depression and anxiety or other conditions give you the space to stabilize, heal, and grow while keeping you safe and supported.Â
With many locations across California, Minnesota, Virginia, and Washington, AMFM Healthcare can provide you with care and compassion without shame or judgment. If you’re interested in hearing more about the treatment programs we offer, this page covers all the ins and outs you need to know.
At AMFM Healthcare, we pride ourselves on excellence, compassion, and a whole-person approach to wellness. Our team embraces the idea that no issue is treatment-resistant. Instead, we believe in a treatment-persistent philosophy, where our team will adapt, revise, and work with you until we find treatment that works and help you embark on a journey toward lasting, positive change.
We also make sure you get personalized care by adhering to a small milieu model. Unlike large residential facilities that have upwards of 60 or more clients, AMFM Healthcare’s long-term mental health treatment centers have a small environment with a maximum of six to eight clients. This personal environment means that you don’t get lost in the crowd and can build deep, trusting therapeutic relationships.
Stepping into a residential mental health treatment center can be overwhelming for a lot of people, especially if it’s your first time. We try to make the process clear and simple, so you feel prepared for what to expect from your treatment. Here’s what to know about starting residential treatment at AMFM Healthcare:
Before starting treatment, our admission team will verify your insurance, if you have it and are using it. Our program accepts a variety of health insurance plans. We will also go over any out-of-pocket costs and discuss payment details with you. If you are uninsured or have significant out-of-pocket expenses, we can work with you on payment plans or sliding scale fees.
After confirming insurance and payment concerns, you’ll meet one of our highly trained clinicians for an assessment. The assessment is a way for our team to get to know you and what brings you into residential treatment. We’ll talk about your symptoms and how they’re impacting your life, as well as discuss your medical and mental health history. We’ll also go over your goals and what you hope to gain from treatment.Â
Then, together, you and your treatment team will develop a treatment plan that addresses your needs and goals. Your treatment plan will likely include individual therapy, group sessions, medication (if needed), and holistic interventions, all combined to address your concerns. This ensures your care evolves with you over time.
You’ll participate in three or more scheduled clinical groups to help you build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen resilience. Our structured residential mental health treatment also includes two individual therapy sessions, one psychiatry session, and a meeting with case management per week. Throughout treatment, your clinical team will regularly evaluate progress and adjust your plan as you grow and your symptoms improve.
We accept most major insurance providers and can check your coverage levels for you.
If we are not an appropriate provider for care, we will assist in finding a care provider that can help.Â
AMFM Healthcare’s residential mental health treatment for adults is highly structured. The typical length of stay is usually 45 to 60 days, with daily programming generally running from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM.Â
Our goal is to provide you with a routine that supports long-term well-being by balancing holistic wellness, experiential activities, and life skills training. Here’s a brief look at the daily structure of our residential programs:
On the weekends, the schedule adjusts slightly. On Saturdays, you’ll get the chance to go on supervised outings with peers to movies, mini-golf, or museums. Sundays often focus mainly on family time. Our residential treatment programs also have on-site family visitation hours or help facilitate virtual visits for families who are out of state.
At AMFM Healthcare, we offer you a diverse range of therapies to meet your needs. Our evidence-based approaches include (but are not limited to) CBT, DBT, and EMDR. These effective approaches help you identify and understand the issues causing your distress while also giving you the tools to manage difficult emotions and challenging situations. We also provide advanced interventions, like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), when clinically appropriate.
Alongside evidence-based therapies, we also provide experiential methods, like art and music therapy, yoga and meditation, and animal-assisted therapy to support the skills needed for long-term wellness.
