This course will prepare clinicians to recognize symptoms of obsessive
compulsive disorder (OCD) and its subtypes. We’ll identify the essential
diagnostic criteria for OCD and discuss the various subtypes of OCD which
participants will learn to recognize and describe. The course also includes
engaging case examples of evidence-based strategies (e.g., exposure and
response prevention) for the treatment of OCD subtypes.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Identify the essential diagnostic criteria for obsessive-compulsive disorder
(OCD) and its subtypes. - Identify at least six different subtypes of OCD and their unique
presentations. - Describe the first-line treatment recommendations for adults with OCD.

Dr. Patrick B. McGrath serves as Chief Clinical Officer for NOCD, where he oversees the company's clinical protocols and team of OCD specialists. Dr. McGrath is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in OCD treatment. He serves as a lead psychologist at Ascension Illinois Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and is also a member of the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Boards of the International OCD Foundation (OCDF) and a fellow of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
