We all have anxious moments in our lives. When we are stressed, it is normal to experience these emotions. In most cases, anxiety or depression subsides as situations improve and life returns to normal. Anxiety or sadness, on the other hand, can last for years for several people. It could worsen over time and begin to interfere with their career, school, or relationships. When it reaches this point, the person is most certainly suffering from an anxiety or mood issue that requires special care and therapy.
At A Mission for Michael, our anxiety and depression therapists provide those seeking support or intervention for their mental and behavioral health with the right solutions and optimism. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides participants with an affirming, supportive atmosphere in which to develop healthy behaviors and learn how to control their feelings, emotions, and personal connections. Here is what you need to know about the IOP program Seattle.
The Intensive Outpatient Program at A Mission for Michael is excellent for patients who have severe or complicated symptoms of anxiety, OCD, depression, schizophrenia, TMS therapy, trauma, and/or personality disorders and want to achieve rapid progress. Patients can schedule a concentrated, intense experience to jump-start rehabilitation with minimal disruption to their everyday lives. With this program, our staff has helped patients from all around the country. Through our extremely focused and meticulous approach, we have helped many patients with severe symptoms.
The projected length of stay or extent of treatment for intense outpatient therapy varies greatly, but 90 days is commonly advised. Individual needs, level of functioning, and mental health status may all influence therapy duration. In general, the treatment plan is structured to allow for 9 to 20 hours of therapy per week. Each active treatment day includes time for group therapy, individual counseling, psychoeducational groups, and skill-building groups.
If a patient has setbacks such as a psychological decline, symptoms that do not improve throughout the course of treatment, noncompliance, or relapse, their time in an Intensive Outpatient Program may be extended. Similarly, a person’s stay may be reduced if they progress at a faster rate or no longer benefit from therapy.
You may be wondering why some people prefer intensive outpatient treatment over an inpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment is intended for people in crisis who require round-the-clock care, are a danger to themselves or others, and/or would benefit most from a break from their usual habitat and surroundings.
IOP allows people to live at home, work, or go to school while receiving intensive, scheduled therapy and other treatments. An IOP is an excellent option for people who want to stay in the least restrictive setting while still managing their lives in the real world and continuing their daily activities and responsibilities.
