We are so excited about launching this site to help you become informed about what we can offer you and your family members. 2012 was a fantastic year for A Mission for Michael, Inc.! We hired some talented, passionate new team members, added so many amazing treatment options to the program and have celebrated many tearful, heartfelt graduations from our program.

2013 is going to be a big year for us – we are implementing many new aspects to our program and are growing and expanding everyday. We are adding new Family Treatment options and implementing new, intensive training for our staff this year. We truly love what we do – serving our community, our fellows and their families fills us with deep gratitude and humility.

Also this year, there was a cathartic healing process that took place with our Executive Director, Tripp Smith and his wife, Loretta – Michael’s parents. Their involvement with the operations of A Mission for Michael, Inc. and their commitment to making this center be the best it can be helped them accept their loss in a way that they hadn’t before. They show up on weekends, to our events and planned all the major holiday dinners this year. They come to graduations to support our individuals who are taking the next step and they come listen to and pray with the families.

I returned home after a long day of work the other week – but I wasn’t tired or burnt out. My heart was filled with gratitude and happiness at what was accomplished. I left feeling very lucky that my interactions with my peers and our clients are so very positive, that I get to participate in their recovery and get the pleasure of watching them grow. I’ve never had that at a job before. This quote says it best, “Choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

Here’s to an amazing 2013! From all of us at A Mission for Michael, Inc., you never, ever have to do this thing alone. We’re here, as family, for you whenever you need us.

Sincerely,

Lindsey Means
